WELCOME TO NERD PARADISE
SYSTEM STATUS: OPTIMAL
Welcome to Breadboard Studios! our nerdy little corner of the internet.
If it has power, takes code, or makes a bleep bloop, we want to talk about it!
2026 is going to be a big year, as we are finally launching our first PC game on Steam.
This summer, we have 3 apps going into the Microsoft Store, all Windows-based utilities.
Keep up with us on Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, or our Discord.

VIDEOS
Retro Revival Stream Archive
We do as many repairs, designs, and game-development sessions live on stream as we can.
Since we always have multiple projects on the bench, we often focus on user-submitted repairs.
Especially the ones that help people reconnect with their childhood consoles, VHS tapes, and old memories.
We never charge for the work or ask for money.
All we ask is that people put up one of our stickers or support us by tuning in.
On stream, we cover retro console repair, Super Nintendo polymods, and late-generation VCR work through our Retro Revival Program.
Email support@breadboardstudios.com if you have something powered that needs help.
Bench Highlight
Live repair archive: Repair on a High-end HDMI VCR (Panasonic DMR-EZ48) power board in total meltdown.
8 Caps had burnt all the way down to the ground plane and required intense trace repair and UV masking.
Bench Highlight
Live repair archive: Another repair on a high-end HDMI VCR (Panasonic DMR-EZ47).
This particular unit had an attempted recap gone wrong, likely attempting to follow one of our videos from the looks. Very slow process, but we got it in the end.
Bench Highlight
Live repair archive: Here we have one of our "Retro Revival" series. A custom LED light job and clear case transfer on a very tired Super Nintendo.
The LED PCB is a custom in-house job, and really makes the transparent case pop!
DATA ARCHIVES
Program: Fast Windows Search - FWS!
Fast Windows Search is a replacement for Windows Search that relied heavily on indexing and leaves a
lot to be desired when searching in files.
Since Microsoft won't let me name it "FUCK WINDOWS SEARCH" in the Microsoft Store, we landed on "FWS Fast Windows Search".
FWS is a non-indexed, multi-threaded, filename, content, and regex search.
Large file contents, and non-ASCII based files are skipped on content search, bypassing the large list of files since their contents are non-binary.
These are particularly useful for developers who want to find every reference in a terraform file or code.
You get a nice handy file preview of the file content search, and the option to export the results.
Program: BBSql
BBSql is a lightweight, fast MySQL/database GUI-based tool.
It features a schema export/import feature, to allow a backup of db structure but not the data within.
Data export and database export have been split, allowing you to recreate DR databases in a GUI based tool.
Other features are edit on the fly via gui, long-running query search and kill tools, and full db structure tree view.
Program: BBS FFT
BBS FFT is an FFT-based, audio spectrum analyzer.
It features Min/Max view settings, update speed, and update resolution.
These are useful in sound design to get a visual spectrum view.
With min and max settings, you can zoom into a very thin slice of the spectral band.
Since filtering is based on view width, resources aren't wasted processing out of view data.
ASIO and Windows Audio out are both supported, allowing you to view raw input or output, including main audio.
Streamers find this tool useful since it's a standalone exe that runs while on stream and gives real-time view during streaming.
BALIUM
Balium is our first Steam release, coming 2026.
Balium is a free local and online multiplayer isometric top-down shooter, with fire and alt-fire.
Playing style is very close to typical FPS, jump, dodge, double jump and strafe.
Players are given a choice of 4 weapons, and players must wait through reloads.
There are no ammo drops, and weapons stop reloading when not the active weapon
Battle modes are voted on every match, and include one-life battle royale mode, and timed most kills wins
modes.
Match size maxes out at 40 players during beta testing.
ABOUT
Breadboard Studios is a collective focused on coding, hardware, electronics design, and repair work.
As part of our "90s Rebirth" program, we fix and restore things like
high-end VCR units, Super Nintendo consoles, vintage game systems, audio gear.
We take user submissions and do the work for free, so we can provide content on Twitch/YouTube.
User submissions allow us to keep content new, but usually only accept for the 40s and over.
This allows us to focus on retro for nostalgia, and not for vanity reasons.
Most SNES units submitted are their childhood units.
Users that submit Panasonic high-end VCRs are looking to reconnect with old memories and VHS tapes.
For this reason, we are happy to oblige, reach out to support@breadboardstudios.com.
Check out our content on Twitch and YouTube.
We also build software, games, MIDI/CV tools, and whatever else the bench pulls
into orbit.
If it has a circuit board, a cartridge slot, a weird connector, or a
story, we probably want to take it apart and bring it back to life.
